What an absolutely fantastic dining experience! Pigeon Hole in Hobart, Tasmania exceeded all our expectations. We were searching for comfort food that would truly satisfy, and this was precisely the right place . Every dish we tried was delicious - we found ourselves delighted with each new plate that arrived at our table. The soup was phenomenal, warming and flavorful. The burritos were incredible too! In fact, everything we ordered hit the perfect note of comfort and quality. Pigeon Hole is known for being a charming café that focuses on locally-sourced ingredients and artisanal food. They have a reputation for excellent coffee, fresh-baked bread, and a seasonal menu that showcases Tasmanian produce. The cozy, intimate atmosphere adds to the welcoming experience. The café embodies the farm-to-table philosophy that Tasmania is becoming renowned for, with ingredients often coming from their own farm. Searched for ‘Pigeon Whole’ but navigation took me here, the ‘Pigeon Hole’. The mistake turns out to be a surprise. The vibe is barn like. Started with soup of the day (on that day was green pea an and something) with sour dough. It was absolutely delicious. Can tell the beans are very fresh. Coffee is great, too. Beans are from Villino. Then tried their toasted wrap with scrambled egg and bacon, hands off. I normally hate pickle but that little touch of pickle on the plate really made sense. And I heard some ‘funny’ stories abt their names with ‘hole and whole’ it was quite funny, too.

Love Pigeon Hole! It’s a fantastic spot to enjoy a weekend brunch with family or a relaxed weekday meal solo. While it’s not cheap, the prices feel spot on for the quality. We always leave feeling like we’ve had good value for money. The food is mostly sourced from their own paddocks, and you can truly taste the freshness. My go-to is usually the omelette, but there are plenty of great options, and they regularly update their specials. My wife and I consider it our favourite brunch spot in Hobart.
